What was it that you wanted to be when you were all grown up? I asked my kids this question today and Willow would like to be a scientist, Redd wants to be a horse rider, and Beau wants to be a dinosaur. Dream big kids!
When I was younger I wanted so badly to be an ice skater. I remember watching the Olympics and thinking that I was going to be there some day. So I practiced. I roller skated every day in my driveway hoping that a recruiter would come along and make me into an ice skater. The best part is that I lived in a tiny town, but I thought that it could happen. My dreams ended when I actually tried ice skating:
I also wanted to be a singer. I sang all the time. I sang in my backyard on my stage, also known as a deck, all the time. I also was in every talent show ever. I eventually found out what I sounded like and lost that dream:
In 4th grade I decided that I wanted to be an artist. I entered an art contest and submitted a drawing of my teacher. It was an awesome drawing and I wished that I had taken a picture of it. I didn't win, but I still liked drawing and being creative.
Then I went off to college and decided to be "responsible" and I got a business degree. I worked for a long time, had a family, worked some more, then found acrylic pouring.
Never would I have thought that I would really become an artist. This is so much fun to think about. How often can you say that you really grew up to be what you wanted when you were little?
Acrylic pouring is so much fun and it has changed my life. I have seen so many people be changed by acrylic pouring and it is so much fun to watch. People realize that they can paint, they can be creative and that it can turn out good! I am so happy that I am able to share this fun fun technique with so many people.
Want to try your hand at acrylic pouring? Paint kits are available at www.reddwillow.com/shop for only $15.
